Course Description
Just North of Cave Creek is some of the most pristine Sonoran Desert you will find in all of Arizona, which is why we are trying to save it. With its isolation there is a tremendous amount of flora and fauna, a perfect setting for our trail run. You will be running on primitive trails that are primarily used by wildlife and equestrians. The route will take you down through sandy washes, up and over hills and down them too, over loose rock and stiff ones and yes, cactus as well, so don't forget your comb and tweezers. You will go through an amazing saguaro stand and have breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Keep an eye out for an egg. There will be one egg out on the each course. Whoever finds it and brings it back will receive a special prize. All of your sweating, heavy breathing and rewarding smiles, is in the name of saving this Open Space. With your participation you will help ensure it remains as Open Space forever, and we sincerely thank you for caring.
PLEASE NOTE: The one and only water stop is approximately 1.6 miles into the course. Please plan accordingly. It could be quite warm so we are advising that you carry you own water so you can stay properly hydrated.

RUNNER'S DEN on Friday, March 29th from 2pm - 6pm. Click HERE for direction and location. We strongly encourage you to pick up your packet at this time. It will only make your race day that much easier.

Awards
All finishers will receive a "medal". 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in men's, women's and juniors (12 and under) will receive a unique, one-of-a-kind award in the 5K and 10K. There is a special prize for the person who finds and brings the egg back.
Cancellation Policy
There are NO REFUNDS. You can cancel up to 15 days prior to the event for a transfer to a future Cave Creek Open Space fundraising event within the next 12 months. Within 14 days there are NO TRANSFERS. You also have to option of donating you the entry fee for a tax deductible donation.

Accommodations
The Tumbleweed Hotel in Cave Creek is offering $20 discount to participants. Please make sure to identify yourself as a "Cave Creek Trail Run participant" in order to receive the discount.
