3K Kid's (12 & under) Desert Fun Run/Walk (no awards) starts at 7:10am
Course Description
Hey kid's, do you want to come out and have a great time in the beautiful Sonoran Desert? This route will take over you some beautiful land, land that we are trying to save so you have a place to play. Actually, this year, for you returning racers, you will be running mainly within Spur Cross Conservation Area, land in which citizens of Cave Creek bought from a developer in order to keep it how you see today. You are going to run or walk on dirt roads, on small trails, up over some hills and down some ones too, but really, this is mostly flat. It's going to be rocky so you'll need to watch your step. There are lot's of plants and cactus to see. If you're lucky, maybe you'll see some wildlife like a coyote, javelina, snake, lizard or bob cat. You will also need to keep an eye out for an egg. There will be one egg out on the course. Whoever finds it and brings it back will receive a special prize.
PLEASE NOTE: You do NOT have a water stop. Please bring a full water bottle or hydration pack. We will be more than happy to refill it for you at the finish line.
